All its well

Saya memerhati seorang pakcik. Lama. Terjengket-jengket, comot, gayanya seorang peminta sedekah. Sambil memegang sebuah topi keledar, dia terus berlalu. Petang tersebut pulang daripada kilang tempat praktikal, saya bersama sahabat berhenti di sebuah pam minyak untuk mengisi angin tayar kereta. 

"Eh, tak minta duit pun" saya mengalih pandang, buat-buat macam tak perasan lah kononnya. Pak cik tersebut duduk betul-betul dihadapan, senyap-senyap saya meyambung menjeling. 

"Allahuakbar! ada darah di wajah beliau. Hidungnya kemerahan kesan luka, seluar koyak rabak dipenuhi darah.

“Keredhaan Allah bergantung kepada keredhaan kedua ibubapa dan kemurkaan Allah bergantung kepada kemurkaan kedua ibu bapanya”. 

Berbakti kepada kedua Ibu bapa, bersikap mulia serta menunaikan hak-hak terhadap mereka, adalah diantara tugas yang wajib dilaksanakan sebagai orang Islam. Perintah mentaati keduanya jelas termaktub di dalam Al-Quran. Firman Allah s.w.t:

“Dan Kami mewasiatkan (memerintahkan) kepada manusia itu supaya berbuat baik kepada kedua ibu bapanya; ibunya mengandungnya dengan menderita kelemahan demi kelemahan, dan cerai-susukannya dalam dua tahun. Bersyukurlah kepadaKu dan kepada kedua ibu bapamu ! kepadaKu tempat kembali”. (Lukman:14)

He looks at your hearts and your actions

It has been reported by Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

Innallaha taála la yanzuru ila ajsamikum wa la ila suwarikum walakin yanzuru ila qulubikum wa a’malikum

(Certainly Allah does not look at your physique nor at your faces; Rather He looks at your hearts and your actions.)

live well or live hell. we choose.

You’re on a journey. The journey is life. The destination is Paradise or Hell. The path you take on your journey will determine your destination. The length of your journey is not fixed; it will vary for each individual with some arriving at their destination in their youth whereas other will reach old age before they arrive. Yet one thing for certain is that everyone WILL arrive at their destination.

The Prophet (s.a.w) said

”What have I got to do with the material world. The example of the material world and I is that of a traveller. Travelling in the afternoon heat, he stopped to rest under the shade of a tree for some moments. Then, he rose and left it.”- (Ahmad, Tirmidhi. The hadith is Hasan.)
